Isaac, Chief Justice of the Federal Court; Dr. Howard McCurdy, social activist and Ontario legislator; our former colleague Senator Oliver, who served honourably for 23 years in this chamber; and those of African descent currently in both houses of Parliament, including our colleagues Senator Cools and Senator Meredith.

Before I become too controversial for my honourable British colleagues, let me finish by saying that in this resolution we call for the setting of a timetable for the election of Hong Kong’s Chief Executive by universal suffrage.
