To this end, the Council and the European Parliament in turn shall examine the accounts, the financial statement and the evaluation report referred to in Article 318, the annual report by the Court of Auditors together with the replies of the institutions under audit to the observations of the Court of Auditors, the statement of assurance referred to in Article 287(1), second subparagraph and any relevant special reports by the Court of Auditors.

2. To this end the European Parliament shall, after the Council has done so, examine the accounts and financial statements mentioned in Article 78d of the ECSC Treaty, Article 205a of the EC Treaty and Article 179a of the Euratom Treaty, the Annual Report made by the Court of Auditors together with the replies of the institutions under audit to the observations of the Court of Auditors, any relevant special reports by the Court of Auditors and the Court of Auditors' statement of assurance as to the reliability of the accounts and the legality and regularity of the underlying transactions.
2. À cet effet, le Parlement européen examine, à la suite du Conseil, les comptes, l'état et le bilan financier mentionnés aux articles 78 quinto du traité CECA, 205 bis du traité CE et 179 bis du traité Euratom, le rapport annuel de la Cour des comptes, accompagné des réponses des institutions contrôlées aux observations de la Cour des comptes, ainsi que les rapports spéciaux pertinents de celle-ci et la déclaration d'assurance de la Cour concernant la fiabilité des comptes et la légalité et la régularité des opérations sous-jacentes.
