In some case, these global liability ceilings might prevent passengers from recovering a substantial part of their claims under the Athens Convention which entitles passengers to recover 250 000 SDR minimum without any global ceiling (a global ceiling fixes a total amount for all claims for any given incident/accident).

All their actions over the last few years have struck a blow at the interests and the rights of workers, and I will give a few examples: refusal to comply with the ruling on pay equity; refusal to discuss the issue of orphan clauses and to recognize this problem; total failure to reform the Canadian Industrial Relations Board, where appointments are based on partisan and patronage considerations rather than on merit; refusal to pass antiscab legislation; refusal to pass part III of the Canada Labour Code regarding preventive withdrawal for pregnant women.
