TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

On 15 December 2016, the EU Heads of State and Government agreed on a legally binding decision setting out their common understanding of certain aspects of the Association Agreement with Ukraine: clarifying that the agreement does not confer European Union membership perspective, or offer collective security guarantees or military aid/assistance to Ukraine or give Ukrainian nationals access to the labour markets of EU Member States, that it does not commit Member States to financial assistance to Ukraine and underlining that the fight against corruption is an essential element of the Agreement.
Le 15 décembre 2016, les chefs d'État et de gouvernement se sont entendus sur une décision juridiquement contraignante qui expose leur interprétation commune de certains aspects de l'accord; elle précise notamment que celui-ci n'ouvre pas de perspective d'adhésion à l'Union européenne, qu'il n'offre pas de garanties de sécurité collective ni d'aide ou assistance militaire à l'Ukraine, qu'il n'ouvre pas les marchés du travail des États membres de l'Union aux ressortissants ukrainiens et qu'il n'oblige pas les États membres à fournir un soutien financier à l'Ukraine, et souligne enfin que la lutte contre la corruption est un élément essentiel de l'accord.

9. Stresses that the Association Agreement will provide Ukraine with a crucial modernisation tool and a roadmap for steering internal domestic reforms, as well as a tool for national reconciliation, which will help the country to overcome the recent negative trends, bridge existing cleavages in Ukrainian society and unite it in its goal in relation to its European perspective, on the basis of the values of democracy, rule of law, human rights and good governance; calls on the Commission and Council to continue a frank and open dialogue with the aim to create the necessary conditions for the signing, ratification and implementation of the Association Agreement;
9. souligne que l'accord d'association constituera un outil essentiel de modernisation pour l'Ukraine et une feuille de route pour ses réformes intérieures, ainsi qu'un instrument de réconciliation nationale, qui aidera le pays à surmonter les tendances négatives qui sont apparues récemment, réduira les fractures qui divisent la société ukrainienne et l'unira autour de l'objectif d'une intégration européenne fondée sur les valeurs de démocratie, de primauté du droit, de respect des droits de l'homme et de bonne gouvernance; invite la Commission et le Conseil à poursuivre leur dialogue franc et ouvert en vue d'assurer les conditions nécessaires à la signature, à la ratification et à la mise en œuvre de cet accord d'association;

J. whereas Ukraine’s European perspective must be based on a policy of systematic and irreversible reforms in a number of important institutional, political, economic and social areas; whereas important reforms have already been, or are being, carried out, while others still need to be introduced; whereas the framework afforded by the Association Agreement will provide Ukraine with a crucial modernisation tool and a roadmap for steering internal domestic reforms, as well as a tool for national reconciliation, which will help the country to overcome the recent negative trends, bridge existing cleavages in Ukrainian society and unite it in its goal in relation to its European perspective, on the basis of the values of democracy, rule of law, human rights and good governance;

Urges the Council and the Commission to deliver on the EU promises and address the expectations of the Ukrainian people, who are increasingly looking to the EU to provide more specific opportunities for integrating further politically, economically and socially into European structures and policies, and therefore encourages the Commission to continue and accelerate the negotiations on the new Association Agreement, which is to assist Ukraine in its gradual approximation to the EU on the basis of joint responsibility and joint ownership by the two parties; calls on the Commission to align closely the Association Agenda with the National Indicative Programme 2011-13;
10. demande instamment au Conseil et à la Commission de tenir les promesses de l'UE et de répondre aux attentes du peuple d'Ukraine qui tourne de plus en plus ses regards vers l'UE en offrant à ce pays des possibilités concrètes de s'intégrer davantage, des points de vue politique, économique et social, aux structures et politiques européennes; engage dès lors la Commission à poursuivre et à accélérer les négociations relatives au nouvel accord d'association qui aidera l'Ukraine à se rapprocher progressivement de l'UE sur la base d'une responsabilité et d'une prise en main partagées de la part des deux parties; invite la Commission à aligner étroitement le programme d'association sur le programme indicatif national 2011-2013;

Other examples include the Ukrainian Canadian Social Services, which has created a sister, non-governmental organization in Ukraine with about 100 branches; PLAST Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada, which has managed the trainers project and organizes numerous camps in partnership with the PLAST Ukrainian Scouting Organization in Ukraine; the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada, also known as SUM, which assists in organizing various camps and other activities for youth; the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada, which has donated funds to orphanages in Ukraine; the Ukrainian Self-reliance League of Canada, which has supported publishing projects in various locations in Ukraine; the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada, which has provided money and equipment to the Sheptytsky Hospital in Lviv; the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, which has assisted Ukrainian students; and the League of Ukrainian Canadians, which has provided emergency aid to miners and supported the development of the Ukrainian language.
