Considers that the new maritime policy adopted by the EU should also focus on the protection and promotion of maritime archaeological resources; considers that the inclusion, in the European marine atlas, of a cartographic inventory of submerged wrecks and archaeological sites would facilitate the understanding and study of those phenomena, enabling the competent authorities in each Member State to improve the preservation of their historical and cultural heritage;
