The text of Article 1 of the Decision of the Standing Committee No 1/2007/SC amending the Decision of the Standing Committee No 5/2004/SC establishing a principle of cost sharing for the EEA Financial Mechanism, shall be replaced by the following:

It replaces the following existing committees: the Standing Committee on Foodstuffs, the Standing Committee on Animal Nutrition and the Standing Veterinary Committee.

2. Every reference in Community legislation to the Standing Committee on Foodstuffs, the Standing Committee for Feedingstuffs and the Standing Veterinary Committee shall be replaced by a reference to the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health.

In order to ensure a more effective, comprehensive approach to the food chain, a Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health should be established to replace the Standing Veterinary Committee, the Standing Committee for Foodstuffs and the Standing Committee for Feedingstuffs.

Initially introduced in advisory bodies (cross-industry advisory committees), concertation gained strength and was extended during the seventies (establishment of the Standing Committee on Employment and tripartite conferences) to cover subjects connected with employment and the management of change.
